To Dance in the Rain.

I can't. My raincoat is here. My rainshoes are ready. I can't do it.

While it is raining and raining tons more outside our front door, my heart feels gloomy as well and my eyes have mimicked the rain with the floods of tears shed today.

I am so torn. So upset. Deep pits in my stomach exist now. My hands are tied though. Nothing I can do. I can try, but no guarantee anything will happen. I wish I could just pause life right now and only play what I can emotionally handle. This all at once is not what I can handle!

I came to do some catch up on blogs so I checked my dashboard with all the recent posts of the blogs I follow, posted. I saw a particular blog, "Walking the Journey", listed for the last like 10 places. {This was weird as I started following her blog over a week ago and all the posts were old!} I started reading. I did not have to go far when I came across this post and the tears started, again. I had read this post several days ago and thought it was beautiful. Not until today did it really have any meaning to me.

"Do you trust Me?"

I want to yell "YES" but it is oh so hard!!! By saying Yes, I open my heart up for continued heartbreak that I just do not know if I can handle. I do not know how much more hurt and heartache I can take before I completely break. Unfortunately, this is more than our personal struggle with Infertility. It is so much more. My emotional tank is about empty and I do not know how to refill it...

How much longer can I continue to put on the happy face that I perfected during my parents divorce as I was unsure of my feelings so why should I share with others what I did not know? People look at me and see that I am "okay" when inside I just want to scream and cry and yell at the top of my lungs!

When will I learn to "Dance in the Rain" and trust 100% in my Heavenly Father's plan for my life?

I just feel so worn out. So beat down. So empty.

Boy am I glad my mom is coming tomorrow morning for a couple of days... I really need some mom time! To get that hug only mom's can give and feel as though the world is well. I don't think I'll ever outgrow this wonderful gift.

I may have mentioned it before, but I have a slight obsession with Pumpkin. And Fall. And all that encompasses Pumpkin and Fall...

This year is proving to be a bit different since we have limitations thanks to the South Beach Diet {or else I'd probably have already had at least two full pumpkin pies myself...}. So for those of you who also have a slight obsession with Pumpkin and are not on any type of diet, here are some of the many recipes that look absolutely fantastic!!!!

Start the day with some great breakfast Pumpkin meals... Pumpkin Muffins from Ellie Krieger.

Pumpkin Bars thanks to Paula Deen. Apple Butter Pumpkin Pie, again, Thanks Paula Deen! Pumpkin Gingerbread Trifle, so maybe Paula Deen is my new favorite person for using Pumpkin so much! I know I'll certainly be needing some type of "adult beverage" over Thanksgiving so why not add it to some Pumpkin??? Pumpkin Rum Pie. Again. Paula Deen! Pumpkin Gooey Butter Cakes, just recently learned about Gooey Butter while here in Missouri and man do I love them!!! Paula Deen's recipe sure looks good for this... Pumpkin Cheesecake. Two of my favorites, combined! How is this not to love??? Paula Deen sure knows how to cook... :-) And if you want to try another version thanks to Food Network Magazine, Almost Famous Pumpkin Cheesecake looks delicious too!!!

I must admit, although I have a slight love obsession with Pumpkin, I do not believe I have had Pumpkin in any other foods than dessert... I think I will make this Rachel Ray recipe of Penne-Wise Pumpkin Pasta. Looks good huh??? And Paula Deen comes thru again with a main course Pumpkin meal... Pumpkin Baked Ziti! Rachel Ray seems to be winner in the main course section with this BBQ Spiced Chicken, Salsa Salad and Pumpkin-Chipotle Polenta. {Although, a bit much work for my liking...} This Pumpkin and Black Bean Soup from Rachel Ray is either amazing or absolutely horrible! I love these two but never thought of them together... Leave it to Giada De Laurentiis to throw this together, Pumpkin Ravioli with Sage and Toasted Hazelnuts.

And back to desserts... :-) The best! Paula Deen's Ooey Gooey Pumpkin Cakes. Barefoot Contessa's Pumpkin Mousse Parfaits are so pretty! Although, I'm not a big fan of gelatin... Pumpkin Seed Brittle from Alton Brown. I'm not sure. Never been crazy about Brittles. Am I crazy? Pumpkin Pie with Almond Spiced Whipped Cream, another looks like a must have thanks to Rachel Ray!

How about anytime snacks or appetizers?? Bobby Flay from Boy Meets Grill has a Spicy Pumpkin Seeds recipe that looks delicious! If Spicy is not your thing, Caramelized Pumpkin Seeds from Sandra Lee oh how yummy! Pumpkin Bread, such a classic, by Alton Brown. Pumpkin Seed Salsa from Emeril is another one of those, fantastic or complete bust!

And now that an entire post has been dedicated to Pumpkin, go try a recipe but be sure to tell me all about it!!!!! :-)

Anyone know how to get grape juice out of a cream sweater? We tried a new church this morning and during communion i got my little cup even though i hesitated as i could just imagine all the germs going into the tray thanks to all the coughing that occured during the service.. So i got mine and somehow charles knocked me and well the little cup i was holding spilled on my sweater! I couldnt help but laugh really... Charles feels really bad but it is pretty funny! I have accepted that this sweater will be trashed but will attempt to get it out. ANY SUGGESTIONS????????

Shopping trip? SUCCESS!

Saturday night I ventured out, alone, for the weekly grocery shopping adventure. I say adventure as that is exactly what it has been since I started couponing while also doing the Dave Ramsey budgeting system... Both have been a success. One slightly more so than the other though. :-)

This is the first time I went shopping, alone! Charles was working so I had no choice. :-( I had my coupons in hand. My grocery list. Calculator. And pencil. Ready to shop!

I even handed over two coupons to a lady and told her to use them together {it was a BOGO Free along with another coupon for $1.00 off the same item so even less was paid out of pocket!} and went along my way... :-) I love this new found knowledge I have!!! Gotta say, this blog has helped me out TREMEDOUSLY!!!!!

All in all, I think I did pretty darn good! I purchased 58 items total. My grand total, before tax, came to $197.58!

Then I handed over the lady my stack of coupons {do you usually give coupons as you go or wait until the end to bombard the cashier??}, and it began...

13 coupons later, my new grand total is $168.24!!! I was pretty stinking proud of myself! :-)

And get this! I was PAID to purchase a few items as well!!!! Like, I had two $5.00 off any E.P.T. item and they were only $3.47 so the difference was taken off other items! This happened with a few coupons... I even spent $25 on a birthday gift for one of my nanny boys {they LOVE The Wonder Pets and so it's Ming-Ming!}.

What is not included in this grand total but is included in the first photo are two ClearBlue Ovulation 7pack + 1 Digital Home Pregnancy Test that I purchased for $7.24/each at Walgreens! On my receipt, it says I saved $43.50 by purchasing only these two items!! Anyone that's ever purchased these ClearBlue products knows how expensive these things are! I was so tempted to buy out the stock {only five} but figured Charles wouldn't be too pleased... Instead, I rationalized. :-) Ready???

I figured I would use one 7-pack of Ovulation Predictor's for the cycle in November and the second 7-pack in December and January we'll hopefully be back up in treatments!!! :-)

Below are my photos of a few items purchased... {Excuse the kitchen table covered in photos I'm organizing to scrapbook}

I found this product, I'm SOOO excited about it!!! It's a Dark Chocolate spread! No added sugar thus South Beach Friendly! I plan to use some on the Pineapple I purchased as a little dessert! YUM YUM! Oh, and we LOVE Jiff's Natural Peanut Butter! No added sugar...No need to stir...No need to refridgerate...No mess! The skippy "natural" has added sugar just FYI.

No we do not have a cat! These two cat treats were thrown in my cart only becuase they were FREE!!!! I'll either A) Use them as dog treats {I'm so cheap!} or B) Treat the neighborhood kitties we have roaming around {although Charles doesn't think it's a good idea...}!

No, the beer was not purchased on this trip... Nor has it been touched since starting the South Beach Diet... This trip included celery, peppers, grapes, pineapple, tomatoes...... I forget what else.

So, what do you think???? Think I did a decent job by myself grocery shopping??? :-)

Not alone.

I often feel like I {and Charles} are the only couple left on the face of this earth struggling with Infertility... I know. Completely irrational. I understand this. Just tell my emotions to grasp this fact and all should be fine.

I often find myself searching other blogs {mostly thanks to Melissa Ford at Stirrup Queens and her amazingly anal list of Infertility blogs sorted by various topics...} just to read other's stories so I won't feel as alone. I want to know that others are out there still not pregnant {sounds horrible huh?} and at the same time, I love reading success stories to give me hope that miracles still do happen!

I found myself last night on google {I often google random things... LOVE google!} and decided to google 'celebrities with Infertility' and boy was I overwhelmed!!! Just about all of them only came out after they had their miracles either in womb or arms. I just wish at least one would be more open about their struggles and journey just like with the various other causes such as cancers, abuse, illnesses, and the like.

It's just nice to know {again, horrible, I know} that Infertility is not occuring becuase I'm a middle-class American, or becuase I have brown hair or blue eyes. Infertility happens to anyone and everyone. Rich people. Poor people. Black, white, red, brown, blue people. Every continent people. Celebrities and everyday folks alike.

And if you want to read about celebrities and their struggles, you can check out this, this, and this website.

Let me just say how thankful I am for the world wide web... I certainly would feel alone as the only other 'infertiles' I know, I met thanks to the Internet, in one form or another! I am so thankful to have these 'infertiles' in my life, even if 98% of them are now my reminders that miracles still do happen!

And a bit off topic, You can still enter to win 100 Postcards! Just submit a comment with your e-mail address and a thought on how you would use them if you won!

Fill in the blank...

"The assets of the corporation will be distributed on dissolution as follows:_________________________________________"

What would you put here??? Okay. Maybe I'm kidding.

Maybe not.

No really. I am kidding {unless you are a lawyer and want to lend a hand...}.

Just trying to finagle my way {legally} thru the State of Missouri's Articles of Incorporation of a Nonprofit Corporation.

Fun times.

Which explains {along with my feeling like crap} why I have been neglecting my blog.

So instead, I will leave you to ponder this...

"The corporation is formed for the following purpose(s)..."

You'll get that answer once I figure out how to word it legally. Ah. I can't wait to reveal all the details to you all!!!!!! Soon enough!!!!

Kreativ-Blogger Award gave me this award! :-) Go over and congratulate her on her hard work that's paid off with 10" lost and counting!

1. Thank the person who nominated you for this award.

2. Copy the logo and place it on your blog.

3. Link to the person who nominated you for this award.

4. Name 7 things about yourself that people may not know.

5. Nominate 7 Kreativ Bloggers.

6. Post links to the 7 blogs you nominate.

7. Leave a comment on each of the blogs letting them know they’ve been nominated.

Now 7 things...

1. I once had a bird whom I named "Mr." Good memories... One random day, I was on the phone with a guy whom I thought I liked and suddely "Mr." fell off his perch onto the floor and started trembling. I started hollaring for someone to come. My dad came and held "Mr." while he died. Then we buried "Mr." in a shoe box in the backyard. Nice huh? Oh. No fear. I got another bird whom was named "Mrs." :-) Creative, huh?

2. I have dreamed of taking a road trip across the 48 continuous states for as long as I can remember... I don't care to go to Hawaii or Italy. Just give me a car, money, and let me drive and explore as I please the US of A!

3. Back when I was in like fifth grade, I won second in a hula-hooping contest! I lost...TO A BOY!!!!! hahaha!! Oh. I was good though! I could do some hip shaking!

4. Charles and I set our original wedding date at 06/05/04 {totally for the date!} but since planning the wedding was stressing me out {along with working full time and going to school full time} he took over the plans. Well, he called a wedding planner in Florida and we got married over Labor Day weekend so it would not interrupt missing school or him starting his new job, NOT becuase I was pregnant-thank-you-very-much! That's a whole other topic though...

5. I would LOVE to be a Rockett {even for just a day}... I think they are absolutely beautiful! It's such a female art. I love it! Heck, I love all these womanly dances like belly dancing and ballroom dances. I loved the dresses... I would LOVE to see the Rockett's live too... Maybe since they originated in St. Louis, Charles will take advantage of that and take me?? :-) HINT HINT HINT Honey!

6. Speaking of dresses and dancing and such. I went thru a stage in my early years were I would ONLY wear dresses. All the better if they "really turned". I don't think I owned a pair of blue jeans for what, six years? Crazy! I know!!!

7. I have very little decorative sense. I can see something and know if I like it or not but I cannot 'remake' it in my house. I guess in a whole, I'm not fashion savvy. I just don't know how to be.

and now I am supposed to nominate 7 others... However, can I use not feeling well as an excuse to op out and instead go crawl in bed for the night???? So, instead of nominating only 7 wonderful blogger friends, I want to say that if you read this post, I nominate YOU! Cheesy. Sorry.

I was planning to write a splended post this weekend. Instead. I feel icky. Not like "sick-as-a-dog" sick, instead just icky.

My throat is killing me. No white spots {AKA Doesn't look like strep.} My ears feel full. I just feel icky. Mostly all head crap.

So instead of writing a beautiful {ha!} post to amuse you all, I am going to share {minus the actual germs} the ickyness I have right now...

What is your favorite get-well-soon remedy?? Drinking hot tea? Lots of fluids? Chicken noodle soup? Peanut butter and jelly/honey sandwhiches? oh.... Grilled cheese and soup! YUM YUM!

So on that note. I will go and park myself on the couch to watch a chick flick movie since Charles is at work and I'm to 'take care of myself' while he's away...

Hormones. Unnecessary!

12.? pounds. LOST! :-) For me anyways.
16.? pounds. LOST! :-) For Charles.

We've been on the South Beach Diet for two weeks, three days. I'm pretty pleased with these results so far. ;-)

We started phase two this past Monday, two days ago, and everything seems to be sitting well with me for now. The last three days, I lost 1.2 more pounds while introducing carbohydrates back into my diet! All the right ones, so that is good!

What frustrates me is that I have noticed the last week and a half lots of "ovary action" and became concerned. I am having lots of cramp type feelings, more just aches and stuff, right around both ovaries. It just is not right.

Three days ago, it dawned on me. It's the hormones. Not MY hormones, which is the problem. For goodness sake, do these additional hormones not know my body has a hard enough time functioning without their 'help'?? It is the hormones that we are ingesting thanks to the cheapest poultry, beef, and eggs that we can buy {trying to stick to the budget of course} and thus not the hormone free, pesticide free, and antibiotic free selections we were eating 98% of the time.

I am almost tempted to ask for an ultrasound to see if my ovaries now look with all these hormones and crap in me again... I tell ya. My body isn't just sensitive to medications, but to EVERYTHING! Which I guess is a good thing that I know my body enough to pinpoint this!

So needless to say, we've allotted an extra $20 a week to compensate for the additional costs these hormone free, pesticide free, and antibiotic free items will cost us each week. It is worth it to not have any of this "ovary action" going on!

And we wonder why little girls are 'maturing' earlier and earlier... Or why little boys are showing more signs of female traits than DNA says they should. The additives that are put in our meats and dairy is UNNECESSARY! I strongly believe that if you are going to prioritize buying anything organic, all-natural, it should be these foods instead of the fruits and veggies!

A couple posts down, I revealed that I had been reading... Shocker. I know. :-)

I first read, The Infertility Companion. This is a book endorsed by the Christian Medical Association. For me, it addressed topics that I had thought about, but not in the depth that they were discussed.
For instance, Surrogacy. This can become a touchy topic. I have my opinions as to what Charles and I will and will not consider shall we come to this point.

I would recommend that everyone in contact with someone struggling with Infertility to read the book though, at least the first few chapters! It has a list of what to NOT say to an infertile... Rather amusing to read it myself really. :-)

My second book was The Fertile Female. Not quite sure how I feel about this book. I found the Pantry Must haves interesting towards the end of the book. Other than that, nothing real stood out to me. I read the book awfully quickly so maybe I just didn't take the time to get deep into it?

The last book I read was A Blessed Event. Wow. WEIRD! It is a novel that deals with Surrogacy {and clearly, not how I would practice Surrogacy!} Twisted all the way thru. However, I did like the ending. I think it was the best possible considering how the whole story was for goodness sake!
So, what books {dealing with Infertility or not} would you recommend for a good read? Do you have any additional thoughts on any of these three books I just listed?

Pregnancy. {Or lack there of}

New rules. Okay. Not really 'rules' per say. Just the thoughts that I have finally come to terms with.

3 years 9 months and 3 days since we decided to have a baby...

{Ya know. We should have had like three by now for goodness sake!}

I have finally pinpointed what it is that really bothers me when others announce they are pregnant. Maybe I should clarify this too. I am not bothered when others announce they are expecting a miracle, no. I am jealous. I want to be comparing feelings right along side them..

Back to the realization.

My life motto has become, "A baby is a blessing no matter the circumstance..." And that sentence goes on to say "either in their life or someone else's". A baby is always a blessing. A blessing for the genetic mother and/or the mother who has decided to adopt the baby. Regardless. Always. A. Blessing.

In my drudgery of hearing of the latest announcements from various family and friends of their wonderful news that a baby will be joining their families, I automatically dread one thing.

The belly.

I love {yet oh so hate!} growing bellies... It is one of the most beautiful images ever yet it sends a pain straight to my heart as it only indicates one thing, the one thing I so long for yet is out of my reach. These growing bellies are a constant reminder of how my body has failed me over and over and over and over again. Regardless of what I seem to do, my body does not want to cooperate as millions of women's bodies have before me.

On the other hand, actually seeing a newborn and being around babies gives me great hope and joy! I love cuddling a new baby. Their smell. One so unique and so pure. Watching them squint to open their eyes and make sense of their new surroundings. I love the wrinkled skin and curled up fingers and those little feet. I love watching these babies blossom into their own individual personalities, day by day.

The only sense I can make of this latest realization is that I may not ever experience the first kick or look at my body to wonder how in the world it will ever return to normal again...

I do know though that I will hold my baby and enjoy all the things that every other new mommy does {including sleepless nights} and this gives me great hope and joy!

Charles' New Favorite Commerical

This is hilarious! Every time this commerical comes on, Charles makes a point to tell me to "Look. It's on. Shhhh." It's freaking hilarious! He cracks up every single time...
