And the point of this was to make yourself feel better? Meghan are you seriously saying that BFings folks are superior to those who formula feed. That's a HUGE insult, and I am really upset that you posted this to be honest. Some people choose to use formula because their lifestyle demands it, and some because they don't want to breastfeed. It is NOT for you to judge them based on the fact that they used formula and i am very VERY saddened by this post.

Ray and Chrissy, I can see where you're coming from, but I don't think that was Megan's intention when she posted this. There are moms out there who have tried to breastfeed and can't, but there are also moms who may have no information about formula vs. breast milk. I'm sure that this post was directed toward the last group - people who may be searching for information about this topic. Facts are facts... if I eat strictly fast food because my lifestyle demands it, or because I want to, it's not right for me to get angry or hurt if someone merely states facts about what junk food does to my body. I don't mean to equate formula with junk food - I would certainly formula feed if I had to - but it is true that breast milk is best, and formula is an acceptable option.

Meredith- the first formula ingredient lists I look up online, straight from Target's website, it was there. The second as well. Both were Similiac.

Chrissy- First off, I am in no way judging anyone that chooses to feed their baby formula! Each parent has the right to parent the way they so deem fit for their child. We each make decisions on how to parent with the knowledge we have at the time. To each their own really... I simply posted this FACTUAL information as I stumbled across it and was amazed what all breastmilk contained to be completely honest. We all have heard the saying, "Breastmilk is best", even formula companies state this. This list of ingredients have you is WHY. I know lots of women who are told formula contains everything breastmilk does {which is incorrect information} and thus do not give breastfeeding a second thought. It is these women I hope will stumble across this post and then weigh out their options on what they feel is best for their baby. That is exactly why I did not include any personal dialogue or my decision as I did not want my statements to be included in someone else weighing the personal decision on how to feed their child.

I am not really sure why you are so offended by this post either... You make the best decision for your daughter and baby on the way, and you live with that choice. Just as I did. Just as we all do in every decision we make when it comes to our children- diapering, feeding, clothing, education, etc.

Maegan- Thank you, as a complete stranger, for understanding why I posted this. Educational. And thank you for the follow up on fast food vs healthy food equivalence. I am glad not every reader will read more into it than what I intended.
