God winks, so far

Along this journey, Charles and I have felt so indescribably close to God and so far away from God... God didn't move. Our faith wavered. I love these versus as a source of comfort and promise that God is on our side and does have it all worked out according to His plan.

Romans 8:26-28
And the Holy Spirit helps us in our distress. For we don't even know what we should pray for, nor how we should pray. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with graonings that cannot be expressed in words. And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God's own will. And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.

I remain in such awe and appreciation of the moments only God could orchestrate... Coincidence? I think not. God winks, as my cousin Jill calls them.

Our house gets an offer within 24 hours of listing, after negotiating we have an accepted contract by the end of the work week.

Couple weeks pass...

In searching for an apartment I call about 15 places straight from Apartment Guide Magazine for Greater St. Louis, MO. My 16th phone call from this same book lands me talking to a leasing agent for a complex in ATLANTA, Georgia!

After telling Charles about this, I think to myself half saying to God half questioning what just happened, "Well, that was Atlanta... We want to live in Newnan..."

Less than an hour later while thumbing through our first Reader's Digest magazine since renewing after lapsing subscription for about a year, I see a submission from someone listed in NEWNAN, Georgia!

Couple weeks later...

On our local cell phone {(636) area code, local to Missouri only} we have a message from a random leasing agent in Atlanta, Georgia apartment complex contacting us about leasing from them!

Neither Charles or I have contacted {other than my oops, wrong number phone call while searching for Apartments here in Missouri. I did not leave a phone number, name or any other identifiable information} any Georgia apartments to inquire about leasing.

A couple weeks later, on a Saturday...

I have an overwhelming feeling that Charles is going to hear something today about Georgia. I couldn't get out of the shower quick enough to see if he got a phone call while I was showering. I then tried to convince myself it was a Saturday and no way he would hear something from the government day.

Ye of little faith was I... God knows no days of the week and works in mysterious ways!

Later that day, I receive a text from my mom who is out on the WEST COAST starting their two week long vacation. She had met someone while out there and the conversation of Air Traffic Control came up... Lo and behold, he is an Air Traffic Controller and works at the Center in Atlanta! He had informed my mom that they along with the tower had just opened up a handful of positions!

A week ish later...

Charles is at work and while on break he passed the time reading a brochure he found in the union office on the wall. It is about Air Traffic Controlling after retirement, blah blah blah. He reads through it all interested and turns to look at the back and notices they are located in Newnan, Georgia!

We have lived in Missouri for just over 3 years now and not once has anything like these above situations have happened. We do not know what will come of this but know that we are taking the right steps in putting the house up for sale, moving into a hotel for the time being, and just waiting patiently for the Lord to reveal the next step for us- whatever that shall be.

A couple days ago I felt the need to do some blog catching up- I've SO been slacking all things computer as packing has overwhelmed me. The very first blog I read was Elaine's... I couldn't get through this post without tears. Our situation currently has nothing to do with adopting or even trying to conceive yet God spoke to me loud and clear through this post.

Just as Elaine writes, "And not only a God, but a God who knows all things, controls all things and works out all things in His time and for His glory."

I sign off simply saying "Amen!"
