First and foremost...

I am a wife and mother.

Sometimes the wife part gets pushed back to care for the needs of my daughter. This last week has been one of those weeks.

It's been some kind of crazy around Swann Pond for the last week ish. I don't know if it is teeth, growth spurt, changes in my milk's taste, or what but Little Miss has not been too thrilled while nursing. She still wants to nurse, just fussed quite a bit in the process.

We persevered.

*Knock on wood*

Things seem to be getting back to normal... Whatever you consider "normal" in terms of a growing changing baby to mean.

For me, it means asleep at 8pm ish and awake at 7am ish. :-) It means 30-45 happy minutes of independent play in the mornings while I take care of the dogs, feed myself, and then join Little Miss in morning play before her first nap. It means putting her down in the dining room in front of the window while I walk to the door {it's right next to the dining room so I can clearly see her and she me} and let out the dogs throughout the day. It means lunch can be eaten and dinner made. It means a lot less fuss and a lot more laughs.

We'll see what the days continue to bring as we live by the ability to be flexible with her ever changing needs!

Nursing is one of those things that the rewards are there, you just have to push thru and you will get them! :-)

I sometimes struggle with the mama before wife thing too.
