Missing my Pops...

One of my all time favorite stories is with my Pops {my dad's dad}. The little time that I remember having with him, was always fun filled! He would play 'Western' games with my younger brothers where you start out with your backs to each other, walk out X amount of steps and then turn to shoot the other person. Oh the boys loved this...

Since I was the only girl, I was privileged with getting my own room with a full size bed {The large bed was needed as I slept so crazy all over the bed that I would sometimes even fall out of bed. I know. Hilarious.} However, whenever we had guests stay over, it was always me who lost my bedroom and was demoted to sleeping on the floor in my parents bedroom. This always sucked as I had no privacy. As a girl with three brothers, I needed my privacy! Just some place to get away from those horrid ew boys! haha!

Well, when Pops and Grandma stayed with us, although I lost my bed I gained fond memories. All four of us kids {mostly just us three younger ones} and Pops would lay in the bed from oldest to youngest. We would all sing...

"There were Five in the bed and the littlest one said, Roll over. Roll over. {Out went Pops} So they all rolled over and one fell out, now there are four in the bed and the little one said, Roll over. Roll over. {Out went Matt, my oldest brother} So they all rolled over and one fell out there were three in the bed and the little one said, Roll over. Roll over. {Out went me} So they all rolled over and one fell out there were two in the bed and the little one said, Roll over. Roll over. {Out went Ryan, the middle younger brother} So they all rolled over and one fell out there was one in the bed and the little one said, Goodnight. {Baby Brother Daniel grins and snuggles into bed, owning it!}"

We would do this over and over and over again. Always with Pops. It was never the same when mom or dad tried to do it... Then Pops died. Oh how that day was horrible! I love this memory though and hope to one day share it with our children with their Pops {my dad}.

I still miss him too. He was a wonderful man, full of life and was ridiculously proud of his grandchildren. I loved him very much.
