Make-Up.

At what age is it required that you wear make- up when going out in public? I mean, really? Is there some sort of rule that once you hit X age, you must wear at least the basics {Concealer, Foundation, Powder, Mascara, lip gloss/lipstick, a little eye shadow or blush}. Heck. I do not even know what the 'basics' are!

Here is my dilemma... Make-up and myself do not exactly get along. I've tried cheap stuff. I've tried the high end expensive stuff. Make-up HATES me! My skin itches after I've worn it for only a few hours. Certain mascara and eye make-up actually cause my eyes to swell almost to the point of inability to open them.

So. My question... Am I getting to the age where my morning routine exists more than just applying face lotion and going??? Should I start wearing make-up and just deal with the symptoms?? Do you realize how much money we have spent for me to "try" various brands??? AHHH!!!

Yes. I am starting to feel old once hitting this magic 25...

I am not a big fan of make-up either. I only wear it for special occasions. I have very sensitive eyes too. I only wear mascara, lip gloss, and concealer (if necessary). I don't think you have to wear make-up...only if you want to.

Well since I've been on my own, I've gotten up every morning and put make up on. It's made me feel better and given me a certain amount of self confidence. Can't explain it. It's kind of like my saving grace. :)

I never wear it. I havent in years. Peter doesnt like it and, honestly, my skin does better without the extra layer of dirt (which, let's face it, is what make up is). Once you get comfortable "in your own skin" wearing make up becomes an oddity. Call my hippydippy, but it's something I go without and plan on going without for the rest of my life.

Ha, I never wear make-up. Occasionally, lip gloss and eyeliner for special occasions/pictures. I don't own foundation, concealers, etc. And what's wrong with that? nothing. Who says we *have* to wear make-up? Why? Natural beauty is so much better. Don't let the media emphasis on artificial beauty get to you.
If I were to wear makeup, though - I would have to try that bare minerals stuff or w/e it's called. Have you tried that yet? My sister in law loves it.

I rarely wear make-up, but I was recently wondering the same thing... Should I start? I'm nearly 35 - is that the magic number? I hope not. I really don't care. Make-up bothers me too. High-end, cheap-stuff, doesn't matter! It all = itchy!

I don't think there's any "age" where make-up becomes necessary. If you like it, wear it; if you don't, don't. I have adult acne (thanks, Mom) and would sooner die before leaving my house without concealer and a light foundation on many days.
